| Summary, etc | [Marxismo y literatura, publicado originalmente en 1977, es fruto del esfuerzo de su autor por reexaminar las posiciones teóricas respecto a la cuestión que el título anuncia, no con la intención de ofrecer un sumario histórico, sino de contribuir a la crítica y el debate de una temática de plena vigencia. En la primera parte, Williams analiza cuatro conceptos básicos: cultura, lenguaje, literatura e ideología. En la segunda, expone su teoría cultural, que constituye una aportación inteligente y esclarecedora por el uso. Finalmente, en la tercera parte, aborda de lleno el hecho literario, sometiendo a un riguroso análisis las diversas ideas que, desde Plejánov o Gramsci, se han desarrollado en la teoría marxista. No cabe duda de que la voluntad de Williams, al escribir el presente ensayo, fue la de enriquecer críticamente el marxismo, pero manteniéndose siempre alejado de cuanto pueda suponer dirigismo o determinismo cultural.] |
