Las acidemias orgánicas son un conjunto de enfermedades metabólicas hereditarias en las que una vía metabólica en particular presenta una alteración a nivel enzimático. En general suelen manifestarse en los primeros años de vida y, de no tratarse, siguen un curso letal. Debido a su baja frecuencia de aparición, son consideradas dentro del conjunto de “enfermedades raras”. En este trabajo presentamos una mejora sobre un método de detección de acidemias orgánicas, basado en las técnicas de cromatografía gaseosa acoplada a espectrometría de masa, realizada en orina de recién nacidos. Esta mejora redunda en una mayor productividad del laboratorio, es decir, un mayor número de análisis realizables comparado con el método de referencia, como también en la concomitante disminución en los insumos utilizados. |
